Kragerup Gods

The Manager's Residence

The Manager's Residence "Forvalterboligen" was occupied by the steward, who often represented the younger generation destined to inherit Kragerup Manor. The older estate owner lived in the main building, and when the younger generation moved back home, they became the tenant/steward of the estate. They thus lived in forvalterboligen until the older generation passed away, allowing them to take over the main building.

It was also the younger generation who accommodated all the apprentices and farmhands - most recently Regitze’s grandmother, Marie Louise Dinesen.

The 8th generation Birgitte Dinesen also lived in forvalterboligen during her childhood until her grandfather passed away in 1967, after which she moved into the main building with her family. Birgitte Dinesen moved back into forvalterboligen in 2008 with her husband and estate manager Olav Ditlevsen. When Birgitte and Olav moved out to Rugskov in 2011, forvalterboligen was converted into two conference rooms and six hotel rooms.
