The White Lady

Birgitte Dinesen, the 8th generation of the Dinesen family at Kragerup Estate, shares the story of the White Lady:

"This is Gertrud, our house ghost. She rides through the park every night when the tower clock strikes twelve. But it's just a story. All castles and estates have a tale about a white lady. The portrait is unidentified, so we call her Gertrud—our house ghost."

"When I was little here in the house and was alone, my mother would always say, 'You should never be afraid because you are never alone. So many people have lived in this house and have been so happy to be here. We may bury them down at Ørslev Cemetery, but they always come back and watch over you.'"
