Kragerup Gods

The Three Siblings

The Three Siblings

The three siblings are children of Jørgen Eigil Wiffert Dinesen and Baroness Viveka Schaffalitzky de Muckadell. They are described below from left to right.

Anders Wilhelm Dinesen (1933 - 2005)

Anders was born and raised at Kragerup Estate. In 1954, he took over the estate of Skjørringe on Falster following the death of his uncle, Mogens Wilhelm Dinesen. He married Karen-Marie Lystrup, who in 1962 inherited Høvdingsgaard after her father's death. Anders and Karen-Marie subsequently managed both Høvdingsgaard and Skjørringe together, residing at Skjørringe. Their operations included traditional crop cultivation and the establishment of an 18-hole golf course on Skjørringe's land. Anders and Karen-Marie had four daughters: Karin (1960), Anita (1963), Camilla (1965), and Rikke (1967). Their youngest daughter, Rikke, took over the management of Skjørringe in 1987, while the second youngest daughter, Anita, took over Høvdingsgaard in 1991.

Erik Sophus Dinesen (1928 - 2005)

Erik Sophus Dinesen was born on February 29, 1928, at Kragerup Estate. He was employed by estate owner Henrik Brun in England but was involved in a motorcycle accident in 1951, resulting in a three-month stay at Norwich Hospital. Upon returning to Denmark, Erik was still bedridden due to complications, including hip and knee surgeries. He regained his working ability somewhat in 1953.

On September 28, 1956, Erik married Marie-Louise Bohn (1935-) at Vedbæk Church. Marie-Louise carried out a complete overhaul of the garden and park at Kragerup Estate, designing it in the English style with large lawns and viewpoints towards the main building and fields. Erik and Marie-Louise had three children: Birgitte Ida Dinesen, Anne Viveka Dinesen, and Charlotte Dinesen.

Erik was involved in many different organizations, where he was either a member, founder, or chairman. He was also appointed Hofjægermester (Royal Gamekeeper) and chamberlain. He managed the family’s old estate, Gl. Wiffertsholm, but had to return to Kragerup Estate after a major fire. There, he restored the property and invested in buildings and agriculture. New facilities included pig farming and grain drying plants. Kragerup's main building also underwent a thorough restoration in 1966-1967.

In the 1980s, Erik expanded, improved, and beautified the large and beautiful family grave at Ørslev Cemetery, ensuring its preservation for future generations. Erik passed away in 2005 at the age of 77.

Birthe Alvilde Dinesen (1932 - 2020)

Birthe Lindegaard (née Dinesen) was born and raised at Kragerup Estate. She was educated at Mariaforbundet, Bavnehøj, and later Margretheskolen in Copenhagen, with further training in Switzerland and England. In 1964, she took over the estate of Gammel Wiffertsholm near Hadsund from her grandmother, Ida Dinesen.

Birthe Lindegaard passed the estate to her son, Flemming Lindegaard, who continues to run it as a modern agricultural and forestry operation. Before her death, she lived in the estate’s steward’s house with her husband, Torben Lindegaard, and actively followed the daily operations.
