Marius Jacob Neergaard Dinesen
Marius Jacob Neergaard Dinesen (1835-1915) was born on January 10, 1835, at Kragerup Estate. His father was Anders Didrich Dinesen (1798-1840) and his mother was Sophie Jacobine de Neergaard (1810-1857).
Marius became a student in 1855 through a private examination and received his degree in economics (cand. polit.) on June 20, 1859. On March 18, 1868, he was appointed gamekeeper. He owned Schæfergaarden, purchased Vibygods in 1873, and owned several large properties in Copenhagen. In the 20th century, he was honored as a Knight of the Dannebrog Order. He served as the treasurer for the sick fund "Hygæa" and managed its finances for over 30 years.
Marius Dinesen was a very modest and reserved man, known for his refined way of thinking and his kind willingness to help others. This earned him many friends and made him well-liked.
On September 25, 1862, Marius married Ida Cathrine van Deurs (1842-1920), who was born in Holbæk at Frydendal. They had a total of four children together.
Marius passed away on August 18, 1915, in Copenhagen.
