Dagmar Alvilde Dinesen ENG
Dagmar Alvilde Dinesen (née von Haffner) (1818-1874) was born on July 7, 1818. She was the daughter of His Excellency, Chamberlain, and Lieutenant General Johan Wolfgang Reinhold von Haffner and Anna Margrethe Kaasbøll. Dagmar married Chamberlain Adolph Vilhelm Dinesen (1807-1876) on September 29, 1840, taking the surname Dinesen. They had a total of eight children, two of whom followed in Adolph's footsteps and pursued military careers. Among their children was their daughter, Alvilde Dinesen.
Dagmar passed away a year and a half before her husband on December 19, 1874, at Katholm Estate, which her husband owned. She was buried in Ålsø Churchyard, where one of her sons chose the following verse for her tombstone:
Only thought of others' well-being.
Tender-hearted, gentle in nature.
Strong in adversity, meek in fortune.
Noble, loyal Danish woman.
